I don't often go for Annabel's lighter songs, but I like blind hunger (the inspiration for the title and the lyrics might actually have come from Sankarea itself). The song has the right level of lightness for me. It's catchy without being too pop-ish. Zombie's blind hunger is not much different from the disease named Love, I suppose?

I don't usually do mid-season review, but I couldn't resist after watching Apollon ep 7.

Fall season is shaping up to be pretty interesting after all. We'll get not one, but two anime based on two different shoujo manga series. Hazuki Kanae's Suki-tte Ii na yo (or "Say I Love You") is the smuttier one of the two. Xebec will be producing the anime, with Satou Takuya (director of Steins;Gate) heading the project. The MCs will be voiced by Kayano Ai and Sakurai Takahiro.

The adaptation to Robiko's Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun will be more interesting, since it'll be produced by Brains Base, which I love ever since the days of Baccano. Kaburaki (Kimi no Todoke and its second season) will be the director. Takagi Noboru (Sankarea, Natsume Yuujinchou) will be responsible for series composition. Tomatsu Haruka and Suzuki Tatsuhisa (I feel like it's been a while since Tatsun gets to play the main character in an anime) will be voicing the MCs. Other notable cast memebers include Nakamura Yuuichi, Terashima Takuma, Hanazawa Kana and Ohsaka Ryota (who's the voice behind Yuki in Tsuritama).

Solar eclipse at sunset today, I think?

Kalafina's latest single, moonfesta, will be released on Jul 18. The song will be used during a children music program called Minna no Uta, which makes me wonder what the song sounds like. Well, Shiina Ringo's Ringo no Uta was also featured on the show years ago, so who knows.

Annabel will be performing the OP theme for the upcoming anime, Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate. The song title is シグナルグラフ (which translated to Signal Graph, I think?). It's the first time she'll perform the OP theme for an anime, so I'm looking forward to it. Besides, the song will be composed by myu. The single will be out on Jul 25. I wasn't planning on watching Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate at all, but with Nakamura as the male lead and Annabel singing the OP theme, I'll take a look at the first episode.

While I'm at it, I might as well get on with the summer season preview. The list will be short.

Hmm, a 2nd Buck-Tick Tribute Album will be released on Jul 4, the same day they'll be releasing their 2nd new single. The 1st new single will be out on May 23 (ah, next week).

Listened to the full version of Duty Friend. It sounds more or less as expected, I guess?

Laqshe's rewinder reminds me a bit of the Lost in Translation soundtrack. Well, it's shoegaze, so I guess the comparison is unavoidable? I'm seriously beginning to think that there are more interesting albums to be found in M3 than in Comiket. I'm still listening to some of the M3-28 CDs, but only a few C81 CDs stand out in my mind.

Turns out I was wrong about Inoue-san being in K, but I was right about the rest. There's also Sakurai, Nakamura, Sawashiro Miyuki, Horie Yui and Komatsu Mikako. PV 2 shows off some stunning background images.

Read about a manga called Zetsuen no Tempest to be adapted into an anime by BONES. Since it's written by the same author as Spiral (I kind of like the manga, not so much the anime), I decided to give the manga a try. A shade shy of love at first sight, both the story and the art are solid. The main characters are intriguing enough to keep the action going -- and they quote Hamlet a lot.

Just realize that I'm only interested in 4-5 new anime series in the upcoming summer season, namely Natsuyuki Rendezvous, Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita, La storia della Arcana Famiglia, maybe Tari Tari (P.A. Works) and Chouyaku Hyakunin Isshu: Uta Koi (I think this one is a josei manga series? It's about Hyakunin Isshu).

Found out about this new project called K, to be produced by GoHands (Mardock Scramble trilogy). Supposedly, it will begin airing in autumn this year. The official site had these preview sound clips of individual characters up during the Golden Week (they aren't there anymore), and I got a chance to listen to them. I can only pick out Sugita, TsudaKen, and Fukuyama Jun. I think Inoue Kazuhiko-san and Mamo-chan (OnoD as well??) are also in it, but I'm not sure. The PV is really nice though.

Edit: Apparently the manga for K, titled 「Ｋ　メモリー・オブ・レッド」 (K ~Memory of Red~), will begin its serialization in Aria starting next issue (out on May 28).

Hmm, the new Araiso/WA mini album will be out on Aug 3. And then there's the live happening on Aug 11. Not sure when the WA OVA will be out. Ja na.

Ali Project's upcoming album 贋作師 will be released on July 18. Fate/Zero OST 2 will be released on Sep 19 (along with BD Box II). Eh, that's it?

It's been cold lately, not to mention there's been snow. I don't mind it though; the chill helps clear my head.

My cousin got married yesterday. Congrats. I don't suppose there is such a thing as a tasty wedding cake? To me, it just tastes like a fluffy, creamy white mess, i.e., too much icing for my taste.

Dreamt of Draco fighting off hordes of enemies and trying to protect Harry. Yeah, my mind works in strange ways sometimes. Perhaps it's a sign that I should get on with my writing?
